Hey, I'm Hershey, a chocolate brown American pit bull terrier mixed with something else and I am one special boy! My foster mom says I am 100% pure muttikins.
I've had a hard start so far, as I got hit by a car before
Animal Allies found me...I've had hip surgery to correct my problems and am totally recovered and doing great! I won't have any lasting issues (I don't know what that means, but I heard them say it!!) with my leg and hip, so I think that must be very good.
I am a real love, a small boy for an APBT (my foster dad says I am mixed with chihuahua, but I think he is joking), and I love to play. I get along great with some dogs, some not so much.
I live with a great foster family, but am hoping for a family of my own, especially with a few older kids to play with. I get a little excited when people come to visit, but I am working on curbing my enthusiasm. I just like to protect my family. I like to play hide and seek with treats because my nose works pretty good at finding my favorite snacks. But, I don't like rain or thunder.
I have nothing but love to give you...are you ready for a
chocolate kiss??
* AAT Shining Stars are those dogs and cats that have been waiting the longest to find their forever homes. Maybe they are senior pets, have special needs, or just haven’t met that perfect someone yet. For whatever reason, they have been passed over time and again. The upside is that they have been in foster care long enough for us to be able to observe them in a home environment over a period of time. We know what makes them purr – or hide under the bed, what makes them wag their tails – or turn tail and run! You know what you’re getting when you adopt a Shining Star!
Added bonuses: While AAT has recently increased their adoption fees to $150 for dogs and $125 for cats, the adoption fees for Shining Stars remain the same at $125 for dogs and $110 for cats. Plus, you will receive a special gift with the adoption of a Shining Star! So when you’re looking to adopt, take a second look at our Shining Stars. You just may find an overlooked treasure!
